As a professional drummer always gaining practical experience, John was in a position to impart this knowledge and did so willingly to anyone interested in learning. John has taught privately for over twenty-five years. In addition to private lessons, John was involved in programs supported by “Young Audience Concerts”, an organization that contributed to the musical education of students of all ages attending some type of educational institution. John toured with different groups while performing special programs of music that would enable each member of the performing group to provide insight into the music and the instrument being played.

John’s teaching career has given him the opportunity to share his knowledge, and help many drummers over the years. Included in the list of people John has helped are Dave Weckl, Irlene Mandrell, and Nashville drummers employed at the time by Tammy Wynnette and Eddie Rabbit.

John has helped many youngsters and aspiring professionals over the years, and taught classes while visiting colleges and universities in the Mid West such as Columbia University and University of Missouri.

John also performed in clinics as a clinician for Pearl Drum Company, and as an independent providing seminars for music store retailers and drum shops. While living and working in Nashville, John presented his first drum clinic with the late, well known drummer and studio musician, Larrie Londin.

John is available for private lessons provided at the student's residence or for lessons provided in his home studio environment. Please call: (360)737-1796 or write to mrstyx@johndi.com for more information and to schedule lessons with John.
